TO MARK FIFTY YEARS SINCE THE OPENING OF SEVERALLS HOSPITAL, A SUMMER FETE WAS HELD WITHIN THE GROUNDS. LOCATED OUTSIDE OF MYLAND COURT, HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ATTENDED, INCLUDING LOCAL DIGNITARIES AND SENIOR HOSPITAL STAFF. A NOTABLE ATTENDEE WAS ACTRESS VIOLET CARSON, WHO PLAYED THE LEGENDARY ENA SHARPLES IN ITV's CORONATION STREET! THERE WERE FORMAL EVENTS, INCLUDING A SERVICE OF CELEBRATION HELD WITHIN THE HOSPITAL's OWN CHAPEL, WHICH INCLUDED THE UNVEILING OF A BEAUTIFUL STAINED GLASS WINDOW; COMMISSIONED FOR THE HOSPITAL's 50TH. ANNIVERSARY. MANY PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES WERE TO BE HAD AND THANKFULLY, FIFTY YEARS ON, MANY OF THESE PHOTOGRAPHS HAVE SURVIVED. BELOW ARE A SELECTION OF THESE PICTURES, WHICH HAVE BEEN REPRODUCED HERE WITH THE KIND PERMISSION OF THE COMMUNICATIONS TEAM AT NORTH ESSEX PARTNERSHIP UNIVERSITY NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (N.E.P.F.T.)
